Dallas Mavericks: 20-1

Here’s a scary thought, via Tim MacMahon of”You don’t get any better than Rick Carlisle crime, but Carlisle’s offense got a lot better this offseason.”
Drink this you in.
Last year, Carlisle’s Mavs tied for second in the league having an offensive rating of 109, decimal points supporting the NBA-best Los Angeles Clippers, based on Dallas brought in Jameer Nelson to soften the blow, while the reduction of ace sniper and facilitator Jose Calderon will sting. And a few possessions can be absorbed by Monta Ellis as well, which won’t be a bad thing for the Mavs’ attack.
The major boost comes from Chandler Parsons, who will play at small forward to consume nearly all the wing minutes Shawn Marion and Vince Carter shared. Tyson Chandler mans the middle of everything should be a better defense.
What Dallas has is delicate. It depends on the ongoing and wellbeing potency of Dirk Nowitzki, about whom an offense can be built. That is a remarkable thing to mention about a participant, but Nowitzki is, himself.
He’ll be a defense-shredder from the place. And the remainder of the Mavs will play off him as the strings are pulled by Carlisle from the bench.
Doubt this set of battle-tested vets at your own risk.
