Giro d’Italia winner Richard Carapaz to join Team Ineos for 2020

Giro d’Italia winner, Richard Carapaz will combine Team Ineos by the onset of the 2020 season.
Even the 26-year-old Ecuadorian adds to an already impressive stable of cyclists which includes Egan Bernal, Geraint Thomas and Tour de France winners Chris Froome and has agreed a deal.
Team principal Sir Dave Brailsford – whose team have won seven of the last eight Tour de France titles – stated:”He is obviously a fantastic climber but also has good flexibility as he showed at the Giro earlier this past season.
“He’s still relatively young and I have no doubt he can develop and enhance even farther at Team Ineos.”
Earlier this year, when he triumphed in the Giro carapaz became the first riders from Ecuador to acquire a Grand Tour.
He said:”I am really enthusiastic about joining the group. I feel this is a great opportunity for me to keep my development and expansion as a rider, operating year after year.
“I believe I will fit into this group race and well into my whole potential over the next several years. I wish to attain some fantastic triumphs to get Team Ineos.”
Meanwhile, tour champion Nairo Quintana is joining Arkea-Samsic on a thing.
Even the 29-year-old Colombian, who won the Giro d’Italia in the Vuelta and 2014 at 2016, has double finished runner-up at the Tour de France.
