Giro d’Italia winner Richard Carapaz to join Team Ineos for 2020

Giro d’Italia winner, Richard Carapaz will join Team Ineos from the onset of the 2020 season.
The 26-year-old Ecuadorian has consented a deal and adds to an already impressive stable of riders that includes Egan Bernal, Geraint Thomas and Tour de France champions Chris Froome.
Team principal Sir Dave Brailsford – whose staff have won seven of the last eight Tour de France names – stated:”He is obviously a wonderful climber but also has great flexibility as he revealed at the Giro before this season.
“He is still relatively young and I don’t have any doubt he could develop and enhance even farther at Team Ineos.”
This year, when he triumphed at the Giro carapaz became the first riders from Ecuador to acquire some Grand Tour.
He explained:”I’m very enthusiastic about joining the team. I feel this is a excellent chance for me to continue expansion and my development for a rider, working with a team which continues to move from strength to strength, year in, year out.
“I believe I will fit into this class race and well into my full potential within the next several years. I need to attain some fantastic triumphs for Team Ineos.”
Meanwhile, two-time grand tour champion Nairo Quintana is linking Arkea-Samsic on a three-year thing.
The Giro, who won the Giro d’Italia in 2014 and the Vuelta at 2016, has also double completed runner-up in the Tour de France.
