Middle Park mission for Siskin

After this month siskin will run at the Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket as Opposed to the Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes at the Curragh.

The Khalid Abdullah-owned Siskin is unbeaten in four starts thus far, most recently supplying his coach Ger Lyons using a first Group One victory in Ireland when landing the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh last month.
He had been a potential to lock horns with Charlie Appleby’s 2000 Guineas Pinatubo on the second day of Irish Champions Weekend, but relations have elected to continue to keep their powder dry for the Middle Park on September 28, a race sponsored by his proprietor.
Abdullah’s racing director Teddy Grimthorpe said:”At the back of the heads the Middle Park was always the race we had been looking at most of us.
“We just feel he is better satisfied sticking to six furlongs at this point.”
Away from the trunk of Siskin’s absence, Paddy Power create Pinatubo their 1-2 favorite for its National Stakes second best at 11-4.
