The 2018 Womens British Open winner carded a five-under 67 to sit inside two shots of the guide but is currently tied for ninth, six shots off Kim.
There were much better fortunes for Halls compatriot Jodi Ewart Shadoff, who took at a seven-under 65 to move into a share of one ahead of fellow Englishwomen Charley Hull and Bronte Law and ninth alongside Hall.
